![]() In a laptop computer, it's more likely that you'll need a Phillips PH00 if it's a Mac, or you can get away with a Phillips PH1 usually. In most desktop computer systems, a Phillips PH2 screwdriver is needed to undo the case screws, and a Phillips PH1 for the smaller screws to mount the SSD to the bracket and case. You may also need some screwdrivers to be able to open your computer and install the SSD. If you’re installing an SSD into a standard OEM desktop (HP, Dell, Lenovo, etc.) or custom built pc with standard 3.5-inch drive bays, you’ll also need a 2.5-inch to 3.5-inch drive bracket that is included in this kit, or you can buy one separately. We also have a higher speed USB 3.0 data transfer cable if you would prefer. ![]() The included data transfer cable is useful for transferring data from your old drive to the new SSD in both laptop and desktop systems and also for accessing data from any 2.5-inch HDD or SSD. Included is a SATA-to-USB 2.0 cable that you’ll use to transfer data from your old storage drive to your new SSD, a SATA-to-SATA cable that you’ll use to physically install the drive, plus a bracket you’ll use to install a Crucial SSD to your desktop’s storage bay. Installing an SSD in a desktop PC or laptop is easy, but it sometimes requires a few special supplies, which is why Crucial created this kit.
